The problem

Most AU businesses are
flying blind on AI compliance.

40% of Australian SMEs are already using AI. Fewer than 24% have any governance measures in place. And a December 2026 Privacy Act deadline is coming whether they’re ready or not.

FAQ

Questions we hear
all the time.

The 8 AI Ethics Principles are voluntary right now — but Privacy Act ADM obligations are mandatory today. If your AI influences decisions about individuals (hiring, credit, insurance, customer service), you must be able to explain how and why. APRA CPS 230 and ASIC AI guidance are binding for regulated entities. And from December 2026, Privacy Act amendments require regulated businesses to disclose automated decision-making in their privacy policies, with penalties up to $50 million. The direction of travel is clear.
Yes — and SMEs are often MORE exposed than large enterprises, because they adopt AI tools quickly without the legal bandwidth to review them. If you use Copilot, ChatGPT, an AI hiring tool, or any software with AI features that processes your customers’ or employees’ personal data, you likely have Privacy Act ADM obligations right now. The Readiness Audit starts at $5,500 specifically because we want this to be accessible for businesses of any size.
We work exclusively on Australian AI governance — no generalist advice, no juniors. You work directly with the specialist for the full engagement. We’re 100% vendor-neutral (no software commissions, ever). And we’re fixed-price, which means no billing surprises. Large consulting firms can charge $50,000–$200,000 for the same work we deliver for $5,500–$30,000.
We handle all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
Every engagement is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If our deliverables don’t meet the agreed scope, we work until they do at no additional cost. We agree exactly what will be delivered in writing before we start, so there are no ambiguous scope boundaries.
Absolutely — that’s exactly what it’s designed for. It’s a 30-minute structured call, 12 questions across five governance domains, and you leave with a 1-page written scorecard. No pitch, no obligation. Many clients use the scorecard to get internal budget approval before committing to a paid engagement. It’s free and always will be.
